Missing Art is still Art

Who said that a painting is not complete without a frame and that a frame can't hang empty? I beg to differ and I want to show with this tutorial that an empty frame, or even better more empty frames put together can easily become a beautiful wall art. Especially if they are vintage sculpted frames.
I started collecting old frames when we moved in our new home, during renovation, when I found a few of them , very very cheap, at the local flea market. And because the final colors of my bedroom were white and navy blue, I've painted all these frames in various shades of blue and hanged them over my bed. They are very cute and have a shabby chic look.

Pentru a incepe aveti nevoie de:
To get started you'll need:

1. rama veche; 2. vopsea primer; 3. vopsea acrilica; 4. pensula; 5. o carpa curata
1. vintage frame; 2. primer paint; 3. acrylic paint; 4. paintbrush; 5. clean cloth

4. Aplicati vopseaua acirilica in culoarea dorita.
1. Use a clean cloth to clean all the dust from the frame
2. Apply the primer paint or the base for the colored paint. I used lavable white paint because I used it in the past for this kind of projects and it worked well. It applies easy, you don't need remove the old paint first, it only takes one coat and it dries quickly. Attention! lavable paint is not a primer, but for this project only it works like one.
3. Let it dry for one hour.
4. Apply the acrylic paint in your desired color. I applied it easily on the sculpted part of the frame and not cover the white entirely to create the distress effect. Let it dry for a couple of hours to make sure you won't smudge your walls and hang it wherever you like it.

Now all you have to do is make a bunch of them and cover a full wall.

Spor!
Enjoy!
