Dolce&Gabbana on a budget

You’ve probably been living under a rock if you don’t know that in this time of the year there have been fashion weeks all around the world. And of course, the runways have been filled with extravagant pieces, this winter season taking pride in its baroque influences, which could also be found at fashion powerhouse Dolce &Gabbana and accentuated by their accessories.

Accessories which probably few of us can afford but that we can all make at home ;) Today’s tutorial is therefore one of “haute couture on a budget” and is very easy to follow.

To make the Dolce & Gabbana head-band you will need:

1. “Everything nice” meaning anything you can find that’s small, white or golden and can be applied on a hard surface: roses of different size and color, made of polimer or resin, crystals, pearls, metallic flowers, studs and anything else you think will fit; 2. A velvet headband, black and reasonably wide. I found mine at MeliMelo for 19.99lei (roughly 6 dollars); 3. A very strong glue, but not the “superglue” kind, something thicker and sticky. I used Bison for plastic and up until now, it held up perfectly.

The Steps for this tutorial could not be easier. The trick is to have everything within reach.

1. Aplicati lipici pe spatele elemetului
3. Continuati pana acoperiti intreaga suprafata a cordelutei.
1. Apply glue to the back of each piece.
2. Carefully apply each element on the headband where you want. It’s a good idea to start at one end and work your way to the other to avoid blank-spots.
3. Continue until you’ve covered the whole surface of the head-band. Keep the ends free though because they come right behind your ears and would be uncomfortable with decorations on them.

Looks good right? And it’s probably 500 times cheaper than the designer one. And at the next party you can wear it with an elegant, ruffled dress or with a rock outfit - leather jacket and army boots.

Pe curand!
See you soon.
